After weeks of seeing the previews I kept thinking, This has the ability to be a really good show...if done right. After the first show I can officially say I enjoyed it. There were some moments and dancers she was highlighting that I was like, "Huh?" It was too short for an intro in 3 different cities, (I wanted more...MORE!) but it looks very promising. I found Laurienn's random burst into tears and some of the horror stories the girls had to be a little over-the-top (and hilarious) but it was very enjoyable! Can't wait 'til next week! BOOM KACK! Let's be honest, this show is terrible. I don't care how many ratings it gets and how many people say how great it is; it isn't. The SCRIPT is bad, the ACTING is bad, hell I'll go as far as saying the directing and production is bad too. Do they ever leave the boutique? They have like 3 locations for shooting: low budget! To prove my point I'll simply say this, if "Single Ladies" came on BET (instead of VH1) I don't think it would get as much love or attention. People's reception of this show reminds me of Madd TV when they used to do a skit called "Lowered Expectations." I'm not saying the show doesn't have potential, I'm merely saying, as it stands, it's not a good show. You can't have all these elements that are bad—acting, writing, directing—and still call it a good show. If you think this is the best thing since "Living Single," you might need to re-evaluate your entire life. |
